Meet Brandi

Brandi is a native Texan and attended the University of Texas. Brandi and her husband, Thomas, bought their home in Leander 20 years ago, even before Lowes moved in!  She has worked in the healthcare industry for over 20 years and currently manages the hospital-based network for one of the state’s largest health insurance companies.

Brandi has three children, a recent grad from LHS, a current senior and a middle schooler that attends a local charter school. Over the years, she has volunteered in several roles, including Destination Imagination, PTA, and athletic booster club executive committees. Brandi was compelled to get involved when the school board was considering changes to the medical policy that would have allowed the district to remove a child from campus for a medical procedure and not inform the parents. Since then, Brandi has attended numerous school board meetings speaking against the curriculum changes and obscene book selections, one of which landed LISD in a national spotlight for reading material of children engaged in sex acts. Brandi has spoken before the Texas House Education Committee regarding Social Emotional Learning (SEL) surveys being given to minors absent the required parental consent. The journey to protect her own children's privacy and rights has been long but enlightening into the state of our current educational system.

IN 2022, Brandi narrowly lost her race for a place on the board, but has not given up on the LISD community. She has continued to file local grievances, submit electioneering violations to the OAG, report to the State Auditor's Office for educational dollars being spent on items not related to education, and submitted multiple reconsiderations for titles out of compliance with The Reader Act. She has successfully gotten 5 "misplaced" titles removed from middle schools, while 19 more are still pending review.
